NBA Teams Directory

Every NBA team that has appeared on the Sportslyx board, with the crest and abbreviation used across game pages, the pick tracker and the AI breakdown. Profiles are refreshed daily from the public schedule feed; team statistics, recent form and head-to-head history live on the game pages.

All NBA Teams

37 teams on file, listed alphabetically. There are no individual team pages yet, so each card opens the upcoming NBA games, where the team’s statistics appear in context.

Under the hood

How Team Profiles Are Built

A team profile is the anchor that keeps a team’s numbers consistent across every page. It is generated from the public feed, not typed in by hand, which is why it is complete for a league within days of the season starting and why it can lag a day when the feed does.

Each day a scheduled job walks the NBA board, reads every team on it and upserts a profile keyed by the sport and the abbreviation the public feed uses. The crest is stored as its canonical source address and served through a Sportslyx cache, so the image on this page, on the game card and in the pick tracker is the same file. When the feed updates artwork or a display name, the next daily refresh picks it up.

The profile itself is deliberately small. Statistics are not stored on it — they belong to the game, because form, rest and head-to-head history only make sense next to an opponent and a date. What the profile holds is the identity layer that lets the per-game data package find the right team every time:

  • Display name as published by the feed
  • Abbreviation — the key that ties the team to schedule, box score and market lines
  • Canonical crest address, cached and served same-origin
  • A refresh timestamp so stale profiles are visible
  • A namespace for other leagues on the same feed, so shared abbreviations never collide

The NBA directory lists the league’s franchises as they appear on the board, with the abbreviation used by the public feed. Teams from other leagues that share the basketball feed are kept in a separate namespace so that shared abbreviations never overwrite an NBA crest, and the crest shown here is the one used on every NBA game page.

Data can be delayed or incomplete: a feed outage, a renamed franchise or a relocated club can leave a profile a day behind. The data sources page lists the feeds and their known limits.

Reading the numbers

Team Statistics Explained

The statistics behind every NBA game page, explained one category at a time on the NBA statistics page — what each number measures, why it matters in basketball, and how it tends to move the market line.

Team-level categories: offensive rating, defensive rating, pace, net rating and recent form, home and road splits, rest situation. Player-level categories: points, rebounds and assists, minutes and usage, three-point volume. Each is shown on the game page with the public market lines and the fair win probability de-vigged from the moneyline, and each is read by the AI breakdown as context rather than as a replacement for the market’s estimate.

NBA Teams FAQ

Why is an NBA team missing from the directory?

Profiles are created from the public schedule feed the first time a team appears on the board, so a club can be absent for a day early in the season or after a feed outage until the next daily refresh.

Are there individual NBA team pages?

Not yet. Each card links to the upcoming NBA games, where the team’s last-ten record, rest situation and head-to-head history appear on the game page.

Do the NBA crests match the ones in the app?

Yes. The directory reads the same team profile that the game pages, the pick tracker and the AI breakdown use, so a crest updated in one place is updated everywhere.
