NHL Predictions Powered by Analytics
NHL predictions are only as good as the goalie news. Sportslyx folds the starting goaltender, rest situation and special-teams numbers into a win probability and an AI breakdown for every game.

Today's NHL Predictions
NHL games on today's board, ordered by start time, with the public lines the feed has published. Where both moneyline prices exist, the market-derived win probability of the favourite is shown — the same number a subscriber sees on the card. The written AI breakdown for each game lives inside the product.
No NHL games are on today's board. The NHL regular season runs from October to April, followed by the Stanley Cup playoffs through June. A blank day is usually the calendar rather than a fault — but public feeds can also lag, and a game without a published line is left off rather than shown with a made-up probability.
The next games appear in the upcoming list below as soon as the schedule feed publishes them. The NHL analytics hub and the NHL games index cover the rest of the season.
Upcoming NHL Games
The next three days of NHL games beyond today, in the order they start. Lines appear as the market opens; a game listed without a line simply has not been priced yet, and its probability will be derived once both prices exist.
Nothing is scheduled in the next three days beyond what is already on today's board. The NHL regular season runs from October to April, followed by the Stanley Cup playoffs through June. Schedules are pulled from the public feed several times a day, so the list fills in as soon as the next games are announced.
Meanwhile the NHL games index lists recent results, and the predictions hub shows which sports are on the board today.
How NHL Predictions Are Made
Every NHL estimate on this site is anchored to the market and written from a data package assembled for that game. What follows is the NHL-specific version of the pipeline described on the methodology page.
The confirmed starting goaltender is the first thing the NHL package looks for, followed by rest and back-to-backs, special teams and shot metrics — goals and shots per game plus a season-level team expected-goals share from a public model, not shot-level xG for the game. A late goalie change moves the line, and the probability is re-derived from the moved pair; the written breakdown is pre-generated and cached, and the percentage it shows is the card’s.
Moneyline reads are graded on the final result including overtime and the shootout, which matches how the market settles. Puck line and total context is read alongside the moneyline; a postponed game is void and removed from the month.
The probability on every card is market-derived: it comes from the published prices, not from the language model's self-reported confidence. What the breakdown adds is context — why the number sits where it does, what could move it and where the package is thin — together with a data-quality tier (rich, partial or weak) that tells the model how much to claim. Feeds are public and can be delayed or incomplete; when a line is missing, the card says so instead of inventing a figure.
Markets covered for NHL: moneyline, puck line and game total. The full grading rules, including how voids and pushes are handled, are on the methodology page.

NHL Prediction Accuracy
Settled NHL reads by calendar month (UTC), newest first, from the same records a subscriber sees inside the product. Hit rate excludes pushes; ROI assumes a flat stake on every read.
| Month | Settled | W-L-P | Hit rate | ROI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| September 2026 | 0 | 0-0-0 | — | — |
| August 2026 | 0 | 0-0-0 | — | — |
| July 2026 | 0 | 0-0-0 | — | — |
| June 2026 | 6 | 5-1-0 | 83% | +48.2% |
| May 2026 | 0 | 0-0-0 | — | — |
| April 2026 | 0 | 0-0-0 | — | — |
| Total | 6 | 5-1-0 | 83% | +48.2% |
Over the period shown: 6 settled reads, 5-1-0 W-L-P, a hit rate of 83% and an ROI of +48.2% at a flat stake.
Hockey is low-scoring and heavily goalie-dependent, so single-game variance is high even when the estimate is sound. Overtime and shootout results are graded as the market settles them. Past results do not predict future results; a good month is partly variance, and the company board reads the market favourite by design, so a high hit rate at short prices is the expected shape rather than proof of an edge. Nothing here is advice — it is a record, published so you can judge the method for yourself.
Markets We Cover for NHL
The NHL package reads 3 markets from the public feeds. Each is described below with how it is used in the breakdown and, where applicable, how it is graded.
Moneyline
A straight price on which side wins. It is the market Sportslyx de-vigs into the win probability on every card and the market the company board reads by default, so its record is the deepest one on the site.
Puck line
Hockey’s one-and-a-half-goal spread. Many NHL games are decided by a single goal or an empty-netter, so the puck-line price says a lot about how the market expects the third period to play out.
Game total
The over/under on combined points, runs or goals. Totals move with pace, starters and injuries; the breakdown uses the total to describe the shape of the game the market expects rather than to re-price it.
NHL Prediction FAQ
How much does the starting goalie matter in the NHL analysis?
A great deal. The confirmed starter is one of the first inputs the model reads, alongside rest and special teams, because goaltending explains a large share of single-game variance.
Does Sportslyx cover the puck line and totals?
Yes. Moneyline, puck line and game total are covered for every NHL game on the board.
How are overtime and shootout games graded?
Moneyline reads are graded on the final result including overtime and shootout, matching how the market settles the game.
Where can I check past NHL results?
The Pick Tracker publishes every settled NHL read with monthly hit rate and ROI.
