NFL Analytics & Game Predictions

Every NFL week on one board: AI game breakdowns, market-derived win probabilities, matchup stats and a public record of how each read performed. Built for people who want the numbers before the noise.

Season note. The NFL regular season runs from September to January, followed by the playoffs and the Super Bowl in February. Times on this page are UTC.

NFL Game Analysis

An NFL week gives the model six days of information and one afternoon of results, so the breakdown leans on what changed since the last kickoff: the injury report, the rest gap between the two teams and how the spread moved from open to close. Each game page states the number the market is pricing and then argues for or against it with the efficiency and situational numbers listed below.

What the breakdown reads

  • injury report
  • team form and rest
  • market lines and movement
  • head-to-head history
  • venue

Markets covered

  • point spread
  • moneyline
  • game total

Each breakdown carries a data-quality tier — rich, partial or weak — based on how much of the list on the left the feed actually delivered for the game. The tier is passed to the language model so the write-up hedges when the package is thin, and it is the first thing to check when a read looks off. Read more about how the AI analysis is produced.

AI NFL Predictions

The win probability on every NFL game page is derived from the market, not from the language model. The prices are converted into implied probabilities, the bookmaker’s margin is removed so the set sums to 100%, and the result is shown as each side’s fair win chance.

NFL moneylines are two-way, so the pair is de-vigged directly. A favourite at −200 against +170 carries implied chances of about 67% and 37%, which sum past 100%; removing the margin leaves roughly 64% to 36%, and that 64% is the number on the page.

What the AI adds is the explanation, not the number. The breakdown reads the same data package the statistics section shows — form, availability, head-to-head, rest and the line, as far as the football feed provides them — and writes out why the market sits where it does and what it may be underweighting. A data-quality tier is attached — rich, partial or weak, depending on how much of that package the feed delivered — and the read is published before the game starts. It is graded from the official result afterwards, and nothing is edited after the fact. AI breakdowns are pre-generated for the upcoming slate and cached; the win probability on the card is derived from the current market line. The write-up is not rewritten when the line moves.

A probability is a statistical estimate. A 65% favourite is expected to lose roughly one game in three; a month in which it loses more than that is not evidence that the number was wrong, and a month in which it loses fewer is not evidence that it was right. The prediction-tracking table further down this page and the Pick Tracker exist so that the method can be judged on volume, not on memory.

The full board — every game on the slate with its probability and status — lives on the NFL predictions page.

NFL Statistics

The NFL statistics section is organised around the categories the breakdown actually reads. Every number comes from the public scoreboard and box-score feeds and the per-game data package built on game day; where a category is not provided for a competition, the page says so rather than showing a blank.

Offensive efficiency

Yards and points per drive rather than per game, so a team that runs few plays is not mistaken for a weak offence. Compared against the opponent’s defensive number to frame the total.

Defensive efficiency

Points and yards allowed per drive, read against the opponent’s offensive number because the spread reacts to the gap between the two rather than to either on its own.

Points for and against

Season and recent-window scoring margin — the simplest predictor of the spread and the first number the breakdown checks against the line.

Turnover margin

Takeaways minus giveaways, shown with the caveat that turnover luck regresses: a high margin is a reason to trust the record less, not more.

Third-down and red-zone rates

Conversion and scoring rates in the two situations that decide close games; large gaps between the two teams are called out in the breakdown.

Rest and travel

Days since the last game, bye weeks, short weeks and time-zone travel — situational inputs the model reads before writing the breakdown.

NFL Matchups

Head-to-head history in the NFL is thin — two meetings a year inside a division, sometimes none for years outside it — so the breakdown weighs it lightly against current form. Rest is different: a team off a bye or a Thursday game carries a measurable edge or deficit, and the read says so explicitly rather than hiding it inside a number.

Form, head-to-head and rest are inputs to the breakdown, not the verdict. The market line is the anchor, and the matchup context is what the analysis uses to explain agreement or disagreement with it — a read that contradicts the line has to say which of these inputs the market appears to be missing, and by how much.

Every game page shows the matchup view in full: the participants’ recent results, the head-to-head record where one exists, the schedule context and the public line, drawn from the same data package the AI reads. Start from the NFL games list or from today’s board below.

NFL Team Performance

Team profiles are the identity layer — crest, abbreviation and display name, refreshed daily from the schedule feed — so a team is the same team on every page. The numbers live on each game page: season record, points for and against, recent results and the current line, rebuilt from the per-game package on game day.

Team profiles are rebuilt from the schedule feed every day, but they hold identity, not statistics: the crest, the abbreviation and the display name that keep a team consistent across game pages, the pick tracker and the breakdown. The performance numbers — record, recent results, the next scheduled game and the market’s number for it — are assembled on each game page from the per-game data package, because they only mean something next to an opponent and a date.

Two things the performance view does not do. It does not project a team’s next result; that is the breakdown’s job, and it is graded. And it does not backfill history the feed never delivered: a team with a short record is shown with a short record. The NFL team directory lists every team on the board with its profile, and each card opens that team’s upcoming games.

NFL Player Statistics

Passing, rushing and receiving numbers feed the breakdown’s read of the matchup — a quarterback change or a missing lead back moves the line more than any team statistic — and are shown where the public feed provides them. Player props are covered for MLB only: Sportslyx publishes no NFL prop reads, and the published NFL board read is the moneyline.

Passing yards and touchdowns

Per-game passing output with recent-window averages next to the season number, shown where the public feed provides it. The breakdown reads it as a marker of who is under centre and how the offence has been moving the ball — a quarterback change is a line-moving event on its own. Player props are covered for MLB only; no NFL prop reads are published.

Rushing attempts and yards

Carries and yards per game, read together because volume says more about a game plan than efficiency does: a team that runs thirty times is protecting a lead or a quarterback. Shown where the feed provides it and used by the breakdown as matchup context, not as the basis of a prop read.

Receptions and targets

Target share and catch volume by receiver, which show who the passing game actually runs through and how that changes when a starter is out. Read by the breakdown alongside the injury report as matchup context; player props are covered for MLB only.

NFL Prediction Tracking

Published NFL reads settled in each of the last 3 calendar months (UTC). The published NFL read is the moneyline favourite for each game, graded on the final score including overtime. A tie is a push and is excluded from the hit rate.

July 202600-0-0

Hit rate is wins divided by wins plus losses; pushes are excluded. ROI is measured at a flat stake per read, so one large result cannot dominate a month. 3 months is a small sample — read it as a window into the method, not as a forecast of the next month — and remember that past results do not predict future results.

Today’s NFL Games

Every NFL game on today’s board (UTC) in start-time order, with the public spread, total and moneyline where the feed provides them. The NFL regular season runs from September to January, followed by the playoffs and the Super Bowl in February.

There are no NFL games on today’s board (UTC). Either the schedule has a gap — common in every sport — or the feed has not returned the day yet; the board refreshes several times a day and fills in on its own.

Upcoming games appear in the next section as soon as the feed lists them, and the NFL games page keeps the full schedule window.

Upcoming NFL Games

Games scheduled over the next 3 days on the public feed, after today. Lines are shown as soon as the market posts them; games without a line yet are listed with their start time only.
