How Sportslyx Works

From the moment a game appears on the public schedule to the moment its read is graded, here is what happens inside Sportslyx — and what you actually do on each surface of the product.

Pipeline

From Schedule to Graded Read in Six Steps

The same six steps run for every game in every sport, every day. Nothing is hand-picked and nothing is quietly dropped.

  1. 1

    Ingest the slate

Schedules, start times, lines, injuries, scores and box scores are pulled from public feeds several times a day, with the ESPN scoreboard as the keyless primary for all seven sports.

  2. 2

    Build the game package

Statistics, recent form, head-to-head history, availability and probable starters are assembled per game and tagged with a data-quality tier: rich, partial or weak.

  3. 3

    Price the market

The moneyline pair is de-vigged into a fair win probability. That number anchors everything downstream and is the only percentage the product shows.

  4. 4

    Write the breakdown

A language model, accessed through OpenRouter, reads the package and the line and writes a structured matchup analysis. The output is validated and cached.

  5. 5

    Publish the board

The Matches board lists every game with its breakdown; the company Board publishes one read per game. The percentage on each card follows the line with every board refresh; the written breakdown is generated once and cached.

  6. 6

    Grade and record

After the final result, settlement jobs grade every read — company and personal — and the calendar-month record is published on the Pick Tracker.

Steps one to four are described in detail on the methodology page and the data sources page. The rest of this page is about the surfaces you use once the pipeline has done its work.

Overview

The Overview is the first screen after sign-in: a personal dashboard with your month at a glance and the day’s featured game.

What you do

Open the product and check your month: settled picks, hit rate, ROI and net result at your own stake, alongside the company’s record for the same calendar month, graded at a flat stake. Pick a sport, see the featured game of the day and jump into its breakdown.

What you get

A single place where your own record and the company board are measured by identical rules and shown side by side, plus the day’s hot pick with its market-derived probability and a link straight into the analysis.

How the record is measured

Matches & AI Breakdowns

Matches is the per-sport board: every game on the slate, its public line, its market-derived probability and its AI breakdown.

What you do

Choose a sport and a date, scan the board ordered by start time, and open a game. Spend an AI token to unlock the full breakdown, read the case for each side, check team statistics, recent form and head-to-head history in the same window, and add the game to your watchlist or your tracked picks.

What you get

A structured read for any game you care about — what the market is pricing, what it may be underweighting, what could move the result — anchored to a probability that comes from the line rather than from the model’s mood. Breakdowns are pre-generated for the upcoming slate, so they are usually ready before you open them.

Board & Daily Ledger

The Board is the company’s own published record: one read per game on the slate, and a day-by-day ledger of how each one settled.

Combos

Combos builds same-game tickets priced from one score model, so correlated legs are priced together. Available on Pro and above.

What you do

Pick a game, choose the legs — moneyline or spread, total and team totals — and build the ticket (player props are covered for MLB only and are not a combo leg). The builder prices the combination from a single distribution of how the score is likely to unfold, spends a Builder token, and lets you save the ticket to be graded after the game.

What you get

An honest price for a correlated ticket. A favourite’s moneyline and an under are not independent, and multiplying their probabilities overstates the combination; pricing them from one model shows what the legs are really worth together, leg by leg, before you decide anything.

Studio

Studio turns your own beliefs about a sport into a model you can run on live games and have graded. Available on Pro and above.

What you do

Choose the statistics you trust — pace, rest, pitching, goaltending, form, shots on target — set their weights, and run a game through the model. Each run spends a Builder token, is saved with the market number and the AI read next to it, and is graded after the final result.

What you get

A record of whether your weights hold up. Over a month you can see which inputs your model overvalued and which it ignored, compared against the market on the same games. Studio does not add hidden factors: the model is exactly the weights you set.

Pick Tracker

The Pick Tracker is where every read — yours and the company’s — is measured by the same rules, automatically, month by month.

Assistant

The Assistant is an AI chat about the games on the board: ask a question about a matchup and get an answer grounded in the same package the breakdown was written from.

What you do

Open a game and ask — why the line moved, what the rest situation looks like, how the two starting pitchers compare, what the market is assuming. Each message spends an AI token. The Assistant also handles support conversations so you do not have to leave the product to ask about your account.

What you get

A follow-up on the breakdown rather than a search engine: the answer is constrained to the hydrated data and the line for that game, and it carries the same limits — data can be delayed, the model can be wrong, and nothing it says is advice.

Getting started

From Sign-Up to First Breakdown

Five steps, no credit spent today. Here is exactly what happens when you create an account.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Register with an email address and a password. You must be 18 or older, and you accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on the form.

  2. 2

    Start the 7-day trial

The Pro trial needs a card but charges $0 today. It renews at $59 a month plus tax after 7 days unless you cancel first — one trial per account.

  3. 3

    Open Matches

Pick a sport. The board shows every game on the slate with its public line and market-derived probability, ordered by start time.

  4. 4

    Unlock a breakdown

Spend one AI token on the game you care about. The full analysis opens, along with statistics, form and head-to-head history for both sides.

  5. 5

    Track it

Add the game to your watchlist or track a pick before the 15-minute cut-off. It is graded automatically after the final result and lands in your monthly record.

If you would rather start smaller, the Starter plan costs $19 a month plus tax and includes 50 AI tokens with a cap of 5 AI actions a day; it does not include Combos or Studio. Upgrades apply immediately at full price with a new period, downgrades take effect next period, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know anything about statistics to use Sportslyx?

No. The board, the breakdowns and the market-derived probability are written for a reader, not an analyst. Studio and Combos go deeper and reward some familiarity with the numbers, but the Overview and Matches surfaces need none.

What does an AI token unlock?

One AI token opens one match breakdown or sends one message to the AI assistant about a game. Builder tokens pay for Studio runs and combo builds. The monthly allotment refills each billing period; the Pro plan includes 500 AI tokens and 120 Builder tokens a month.

Is everything graded automatically?

Yes. Settlement jobs grade the company board, your tracked picks, Studio runs and combos from official final scores and box scores. A soccer draw is a push, a cancelled fight is void, golf previews are published for information only and are not graded, and picks close 15 minutes after the scheduled start.

Which surfaces need a Pro plan?

Combos and Studio are available on the Pro plan and above. The 7-day trial runs on Pro, so both are open during the trial. The Overview, Matches, Board, Assistant and Pick Tracker are part of every plan.

Can I use Sportslyx without placing a bet anywhere?

Yes, and many people do. Sportslyx is an analytics workspace: it does not take bets. The company board is graded at a flat notional stake and your own picks at the stake you enter, purely to measure them — no money changes hands. It is for information and entertainment, for adults only.
