Soccer — major leagues and competitions
Soccer Analytics & Match Predictions
Soccer analytics across the major leagues and competitions: AI match breakdowns, market-derived win probabilities from the 1X2 line, goal-total context and a graded record where a draw is treated as a push.
Season note. Most European leagues run from August to May; MLS runs from February to December, and international competitions fill the summer. Times on this page are UTC.
Soccer Match Analysis
Soccer is priced on a three-way market, so the breakdown reads all three 1X2 prices — home, draw and away — while the win probability on the page is derived from the two side prices with the draw set aside. It explains that number with league form, goals and shots per match as a proxy for chance quality — expected-goals feeds are not ingested — and fixture congestion. Coverage follows the public schedule feed: the major European leagues, MLS and the main cup and international competitions.
What the breakdown reads
- league table and form
- goals and shot data
- rest and fixture congestion
- market odds and movement
- head-to-head history
Markets covered
- 1X2 match odds
- goal totals
- draw-no-bet context
Each breakdown carries a data-quality tier — rich, partial or weak — based on how much of the list on the left the feed actually delivered for the match. The tier is passed to the language model so the write-up hedges when the package is thin, and it is the first thing to check when a read looks off. Read more about how the AI analysis is produced.
AI Soccer Predictions
The win probability on every Soccer match page is derived from the market, not from the language model. The prices are converted into implied probabilities, the bookmaker’s margin is removed so the set sums to 100%, and the result is shown as each side’s fair win chance.
Soccer is priced three ways, but the percentage is derived two-way: the home and away prices from the 1X2 line are de-vigged against each other, and the draw is set aside rather than folded into either side. The number is each side’s chance of winning given the match does not end level — which is also why a drawn match is graded as a push, not a loss, and the page says so next to the figure.
What the AI adds is the explanation, not the number. The breakdown reads the same data package the statistics section shows — form, availability, head-to-head, rest and the line, as far as the soccer feed provides them — and writes out why the market sits where it does and what it may be underweighting. A data-quality tier is attached — rich, partial or weak, depending on how much of that package the feed delivered — and the read is published before the match starts. It is graded from the official result afterwards, and nothing is edited after the fact. AI breakdowns are pre-generated for the upcoming slate and cached; the win probability on the card is derived from the current market line. The write-up is not rewritten when the line moves.
A probability is a statistical estimate. A 65% favourite is expected to lose roughly one match in three; a month in which it loses more than that is not evidence that the number was wrong, and a month in which it loses fewer is not evidence that it was right. The prediction-tracking table further down this page and the Pick Tracker exist so that the method can be judged on volume, not on memory.
The full board — every match on the slate with its probability and status — lives on the Soccer predictions page.
Soccer Statistics
The Soccer statistics section is organised around the categories the breakdown actually reads. Every number comes from the public scoreboard and box-score feeds and the per-match data package built on match day; where a category is not provided for a competition, the page says so rather than showing a blank.
Goals for and against
Scoring margin over the season and the recent window, shown per game so teams with different schedules compare cleanly.
Chance quality: goals and shots per match
Goals and shots per match for and against, which the breakdown uses as its proxy for chance quality: a side scoring from few shots is running hot, a side outshooting opponents without scoring is creating more than the table shows. Expected-goals feeds are not ingested, so this is the read Sportslyx actually makes — stated plainly rather than dressed up as a model.
Shots and shots on target
Shot volume and accuracy for and against — the raw numbers behind the chance-quality read, shown where the competition’s feed provides them.
Home and away form
Results and goals split by venue, because the home effect in soccer is large and differs by league.
League position
Current table position, points and goal difference, shown with the caveat that an early-season table says little.
Fixture congestion
Matches played in the last two weeks and any midweek fixture ahead, which shapes rotation and is treated as a rest input.
Soccer Matchups
Home and away form are read separately because the home effect in soccer is large and varies by league. Head-to-head history is used mostly for style — a fixture with five straight low-scoring meetings says something about the total — while fixture congestion is treated as a rest input: a midweek European tie before a league match changes who is likely to start.
Form, head-to-head and rest are inputs to the breakdown, not the verdict. The market line is the anchor, and the matchup context is what the analysis uses to explain agreement or disagreement with it — a read that contradicts the line has to say which of these inputs the market appears to be missing, and by how much.
Every match page shows the matchup view in full: the participants’ recent results, the head-to-head record where one exists, the schedule context and the public line, drawn from the same data package the AI reads. Start from the Soccer matches list or from today’s board below.
Soccer Team Performance
Team profiles keep the crest, abbreviation and display name consistent across the leagues covered and refresh daily from the schedule feed. League position, goals for and against, home and away form and the 1X2 odds are assembled per match from the data package, so the numbers are always shown against a named opponent and a date.
Team profiles are rebuilt from the schedule feed every day, but they hold identity, not statistics: the crest, the abbreviation and the display name that keep a team consistent across match pages, the pick tracker and the breakdown. The performance numbers — record, recent results, the next scheduled match and the market’s number for it — are assembled on each match page from the per-match data package, because they only mean something next to an opponent and a date.
Two things the performance view does not do. It does not project a team’s next result; that is the breakdown’s job, and it is graded. And it does not backfill history the feed never delivered: a team with a short record is shown with a short record. The Soccer team directory lists every team on the board with its profile, and each card opens that team’s upcoming matches.
Soccer Player Statistics
Player numbers feed the match breakdown — a suspended striker or a rotated goalkeeper changes the read — and are shown where the competition’s feed provides them. Player props are covered for MLB only; Sportslyx does not publish soccer prop reads.
Goals and assists
Per-game scoring production for regular players, with recent-window averages next to the season number.
Shots per match
Shot volume per match for regular attackers — a read of a player’s attacking role and of where a team’s chances come from.
Key passes
Passes leading directly to a shot — the creation number behind assist expectations.
Minutes played
Recent minutes and starts, because a player rotated out midweek is a different proposition at the weekend.
Soccer Prediction Tracking
Published Soccer reads settled in each of the last 3 calendar months (UTC). The soccer read is the moneyline favourite on the 1X2 line, and a draw is graded as a push — neither a win nor a loss. This is stated openly because a true draw-no-bet price would be shorter than the 1X2 price used here, so the published soccer ROI runs higher than a draw-no-bet market would produce.
| Month | Settled | W-L-P | Hit rate | ROI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| September 2026 | 57 | 26-13-18 | 67% | +17.2% |
| August 2026 | 164 | 85-33-46 | 72% | +22.3% |
| July 2026 | 63 | 39-15-9 | 72% | +24.6% |
Hit rate is wins divided by wins plus losses; pushes are excluded. ROI is measured at a flat stake per read, so one large result cannot dominate a month. 3 months is a small sample — read it as a window into the method, not as a forecast of the next month — and remember that past results do not predict future results.

Soccer Analytics FAQ
Which soccer leagues does Sportslyx cover?
The major European leagues, MLS and the main cup and international competitions available on the public schedule feed. Coverage is listed on each match page.
How does Sportslyx treat the draw?
A drawn match is graded as a push — the read is neither a win nor a loss. This is stated on every soccer page and in the methodology because it changes how the published hit rate should be read.
Does the soccer analysis use expected goals?
Not at present. The data tier Sportslyx runs on carries goals and shots per match, which the breakdown uses as a proxy for chance quality; expected-goals feeds are not ingested.
Are soccer predictions graded publicly?
Every settled read is on the Pick Tracker with monthly hit rate and ROI.
