Statistics
Sports Statistics & Team Performance
Team performance, player statistics, recent form, head-to-head records and the market lines that price them — for NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, UFC and golf. These are the numbers every Sportslyx breakdown reads before it writes a word, published here so you can read them too.
Coverage
Statistics by Sport
Each sport has its own statistics hub explaining the team and player numbers behind its board, plus a team directory for the league sports. UFC and golf are individual sports, so their pages describe fighters and players instead.
NFL statistics
National Football League
Efficiency per play, points per drive, turnover margin and rest situation for every team on the board, refreshed on game days. Passing, rushing and receiving volume and target share for the players the market prices.
NBA statistics
National Basketball Association
Offensive and defensive rating, pace, net rating and rest for every team, with home and road splits. Points, rebounds, assists, minutes, usage and three-point volume for rotation players.
MLB statistics
Major League Baseball · 26 games today
Runs scored and allowed, starting pitching ERA and FIP, team OPS, recent form and head-to-head records for every game of the season. Pitcher strikeouts, outs, walks, earned runs and hits allowed, and batter hits, walks, runs and RBIs, with the player-prop lines the board reads from the public feed.
NHL statistics
National Hockey League
Goals for and against, shots for and against, special teams and goaltending save rate, read next to rest days. Skater scoring, shots on goal, ice time and goaltender starts.
Soccer statistics
Soccer — major leagues and competitions · 10 matches today
Goals for and against per match, shots on target where the feed has them, venue splits, league position and fixture congestion across the major leagues, MLS and cup competitions. Per-90 goals, assists, shots, key passes and minutes for attacking players.
UFC statistics
Ultimate Fighting Championship · 5 fights today
Records and finish rates, significant strikes landed and absorbed, takedowns and takedown defense, reach, stance and activity for every fighter on the card. Per-minute striking and grappling rates behind each fight breakdown.
Golf statistics
PGA Tour
Field strength, outright prices, recent finishes and made-cut rate for the week’s tournament, with strokes gained by component for the leading players. Golf previews are published for information only — golf does not appear in the graded record on the Pick Tracker.
What is measured
What Our Statistics Cover
Six families of numbers appear on every game page, in the same order the breakdown reads them. Not every family is available for every competition — cup ties and early-week cards can be thin — and the page says when a family is missing rather than filling it with a guess.
Team performance
Season-level efficiency for each side: points or goals for and against, per-play and per-possession rates, special teams, pitching and goaltending. The base of every power rating and the first thing a line reflects.
Player statistics
Production, volume and deployment for the players the market prices — passing and rushing volume, minutes and usage, strikeouts per start, shots on goal, strokes gained — with MLB player-prop lines from the public feed where a game has them.
Recent form
A short window of results read with the context that gives them meaning: who started, who was missing, how many days of rest and whether the process (shots, goal rates, efficiency) agreed with the scoreboard.
Head-to-head
Recent meetings between the two sides, weighted toward the current season. Shown for context and treated as a note, because series records predict far less than people assume once rosters turn over.
Market lines
The public spread, total and moneyline for each game, plus the fair win probability de-vigged from the moneyline pair. The line is the market’s summary of every other number on the page.
Situational factors
Rest and travel, back-to-backs, fixture congestion, layoffs and short-notice bookings — the schedule facts that shift a line without changing a team’s quality. Weather, bullpen workload and park factors are not ingested; the market line is where those show up.
Pipeline
How Statistics Feed the Analysis
Statistics on Sportslyx are not decoration next to a prediction — they are the input. Each game is hydrated into a data package, graded for completeness, and handed to the model together with the market line. Here is the order of operations.
- 1
Hydrate the game
Schedules, scores, base lines and box scores are pulled from the public feed several times a day and assembled into a per-game package: stats, recent form, head-to-head, availability and starters.
- 2
Grade the data
Every package is scored for completeness — rich, partial or weak — from how many of the expected fields actually arrived. The tier is passed to the model and tempers how confident the breakdown is allowed to sound.
- 3
Anchor on the line
The moneyline pair is de-vigged into a fair win probability. That number, not the model’s own opinion, is the probability shown on every surface, so the statistics explain the market rather than compete with it.
- 4
Write and grade
The language model writes the breakdown from the package and the line; after the final result, settlement jobs grade every read from official scores and the record is published by calendar month.
Two consequences follow from this order. First, a statistic only matters to the estimate if it changes the fair probability — most of them do not, and the breakdown says so instead of inventing an edge. Second, when the package is weak (a cup tie with no shot data, a fight card announced late), the model is told, and the breakdown reads as less certain. The tiers, the de-vig arithmetic and the grading rules are documented on the methodology page; the feeds and their limits are on the data sources page; what the model does with the package is on the AI sports analysis page.

Sports Statistics FAQ
Where do the statistics on Sportslyx come from?
The primary source for all seven sports is the public ESPN scoreboard feed — schedules, scores, base lines and box scores — with optional enrichment from odds and sports-data providers where available. Team profiles hold identity only — name, abbreviation and crest — and are refreshed daily; form, lines, injuries and head-to-head history are assembled per game. Data can be delayed or incomplete, and every page says so where it applies.
Are the statistics free to view?
The statistics pages, the game pages with public lines and the graded track record are public. AI breakdowns, the daily board, Combos and Studio are part of the subscription, which starts with a 7-day Pro trial.
What does “market-derived win probability” mean?
The two moneyline prices for a game are converted into implied probabilities, the bookmaker’s margin is removed proportionally, and the result is a fair probability for each side. It is the market’s estimate, not a number produced by the language model — the model output carries a data-quality tier (rich, partial or weak), not a probability — and it is the same number shown inside the product.
How often are the statistics updated?
Schedules and lines refresh through game day, team profiles refresh once a day, and box scores arrive after the final. AI breakdowns are pre-generated for the upcoming slate and cached; the win probability on the card is derived from the current market line. The breakdown text is not rewritten when a line moves.
Do statistics predict results?
They describe what has happened and, read carefully, they explain the market line. A statistical estimate is still an estimate: past results do not predict future results, models can be wrong, and nothing on Sportslyx is advice.
Reading the numbers
How to Use a Statistics Page
A short protocol that works in every sport. The per-sport pages expand each step with the numbers specific to football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, MMA and golf.
Start from the line
The spread, total and de-vigged probability already summarise the market’s view. Ask whether a statistic explains that view or argues with it; most explain it.
Prefer rates to totals
Per-play, per-possession and per-90 numbers survive a change in tempo or minutes. Raw totals reward volume, and volume is decided by game script and rotation.
Read form with its context
A five-game window means nothing without who started, who was missing and how much rest each side had. Process metrics — shots, goal rates, efficiency — say whether results were earned.

See the Statistics Inside Every Breakdown
