No single input moves a line in any sport the way a starting pitcher moves a baseball moneyline. Announce a different starter and the price can swing from a comfortable favorite to an underdog before a pitch is thrown. The MLB guides therefore spend most of their time on how to read a starter — strikeout and walk rates, ERA against FIP, workload and times through the order — before turning to everything that surrounds him.

That surrounding context is where casual analysis stops and useful analysis begins: bullpen usage over the previous three days, platoon splits in the lineup, the park and the wind for the total, and the difference between a team’s run differential and its record. The guides are explicit about which of these the Sportslyx package carries — probable starters, recent form, team run scoring and pitching statistics, lines and head-to-head — and which are the analyst’s own checks. Baseball also carries the largest daily slate on the site, which makes it the sport where a disciplined checklist pays off most.

MLB is the one sport where the Sportslyx board reads player props as well as game lines.
